Frequently Asked Questions & Video Guide

Why can't I share my video directly to some apps?

This is a common issue with web technologies and depends entirely on your device, browser, and the app you're sharing to. Here's a breakdown:

  • Video Format: MandalaSpin tries to record in the universal MP4 format. However, some browsers (especially on Android) can only record in WebM format. While WebM is a modern format, some apps like Messenger do not support it.
  • App Restrictions: Some apps simply don't allow direct sharing of video files from a web browser, regardless of the format.

If the "Share Video" button fails, the app will now show a detailed error message. It will tell you if the format is unsupported and recommend the best course of action.

The most reliable method is always to use the "Save Video" button first, then share it from your device's gallery or files app.

Troubleshooting: If Direct Sharing Fails

If you still have trouble sharing after saving, you may need to convert the video. This process, called "transcoding," creates a new, highly compatible MP4 file that all apps can understand.

For Android & iPhone:

  1. Save the video to your device's photo gallery or files using the "Save Video" button in the preview popup.
  2. Search your device's App Store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store) for a "video converter" app. Many free and highly-rated options are available that can convert WebM to MP4.
  3. Open the converter app, import your video, and export it as an MP4.

For Windows Users (using Clipchamp):

  1. Save the video from MandalaSpin to your computer.
  2. Open the Clipchamp app (it's built into Windows 11 and available for free from the Microsoft Store for Windows 10).
  3. Click "Create a new video".
  4. Drag and drop your saved video file into the "Your media" area.
  5. Drag the video from the media area down to the timeline at the bottom.
  6. Click the "Export" button (usually top-right), choose a quality (like 1080p), and save the new MP4 file. This new file will be highly compatible.

For Mac Users (using QuickTime Player):

  1. Save the video from MandalaSpin to your Mac.
  2. Open the video file in QuickTime Player.
  3. Go to the menu bar and click File > Export As, then choose a resolution (e.g., 1080p).
  4. Save the new, converted MP4 file. It is now ready to be shared anywhere.

For All Devices (Online Tools):

If you don't want to use desktop software, you can use a free online converter. The app will suggest this if it detects a WebM video.

  1. Save the video from MandalaSpin to your device.
  2. Go to a reputable conversion site like CloudConvert or FreeConvert.
  3. Upload your video file.
  4. Select MP4 as the output format and click "Convert".
  5. Download the new, compatible MP4 file.

Platform Sharing Status

We've tested sharing saved videos on the following platforms. For best results, save the video first.

  • Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter): Works well when you upload a saved MP4 file from your device.
  • Facebook Messenger:
    • iPhone to Messenger: Direct sharing often works.
    • Android to Messenger: Direct sharing is unlikely to work. You will most likely need to save the video, convert it, and then share it from your gallery.
